The striker speaks after the 2-2 draw with Deportivo Alavés
Valencia CF striker Dani Gómez talked after his late equaliser to earn a point against Deportivo Alavés.
His assessment of the match
Wemanaged to scrape a draw, which is a positive thing given the score and thefact that we are coming off two draws after four defeats. It is not what wewant, but when you can't win, the best you can do is not lost. The team aretrying, we push hard, and you saw that we twice overcame an adverse scoreline, but it's not enough. We want more and so do the fans -and we are aware of this. Now we have to clear our heads during the break and come back with more energy.
The team's desire
It is clear that the team want to win and try. They are not lacking in courageand determination, but things aren't going our way. The other day we could havewon the match, today when we were the better side we got the penalty givenagainst us. These are situations that we have to improve on, and try to insistand insist. We do not want to be down there, but the only way to turn thingsaround is by insisting.
Keep pushing
We are not going to give up. We know what the shirt we wear represents, and thefans that we represent. We are also upset by the situation we are in. There isno other way to go than to keep insisting, working harder, and come backstronger after Christmas to turn the situation around. I'm sure that togetherwith our fans, we will join forces and turn this around.
